Your browser protects you: no website β including OneDo.me β can ever use your
microphone without your permission. So the first time you click Join,
the browser asks. You only have to say yes once per browser; after that it remembers.
The normal case: click Join first
Don't go looking for a microphone setting β click Join first, and the
permission question comes to you: a small question appears near the address bar
(“onedo.me wants to use your microphone”) β click Allow.
That's all. If that worked, you can close this page. (The camera works the same way:
if you both agree to add video later in the call, the browser asks again β this time
for the camera.)
Can't find a Microphone switch or “Site settings” anywhere?
That's normal, not a problem with your browser! The Microphone switch (and often the
whole “Site settings” entry) only exists after the site has asked
for the microphone at least once β before that, the menu may show nothing but
“Cookies and site data”. The fix is simply the rule above:
first click “Join the call”, answer the question that pops
up, and from then on the switch is there.
No question appeared, or you clicked “Block”?
Then the microphone is blocked for this site. Unblock it like this,
then reload the page and click Join again:
π» On a computer
Chrome / Edge / Brave: look just left of the web address for
a small icon β a padlock π or a “tune” icon (two little sliders).
Click it β switch Microphone on (or open Site settings β
Microphone β Allow) β reload the page. It looks like this:
Firefox: click the microphone icon with a stripe through it in the
address bar β remove the block ("Blocked temporarily" β) β reload the page.
Safari (Mac): menu Safari β Settings for onedo.meβ¦ β
set Microphone to Allow β reload the page.
π± On a phone or tablet
Android (Chrome): tap the padlock π (or tune icon) left of the
address β Permissions β Microphone β Allow β reload.
No Permissions or Microphone entry there? See above: tap Join
first and the question comes to you.
iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap the aA (or settings) icon
in the address bar β Website Settings β Microphone β
Allow. Still silent? Go to iOS Settings β Apps β Safari β
Microphone and switch it on.
Still not working? Check the computer itself
Windows: Start β Settings β Privacy & security β Microphone β
allow apps (and desktop apps) to access the microphone.
Mac:System Settings β Privacy & Security β Microphone β
switch your browser on.
Linux: check in your sound settings that an input device (microphone)
is selected and not muted.
Golden rule: after any change here, reload the page first,
then click Join. · Pictures and a short animation for each step are
on their way.
